2020 Bathurst 12 Hour Podium Finish
After a record breaking 314 laps, 1950km’s and 12 Hours of intense battles, sad endings and nail biting moments the #60 McLaren has taken away a podium
finish in the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour.
Piloted by a world class lineup, the #60 car started from P2, piloted by Alvaro Parente. Within Laps Alvaro Secured a healthy lead before handing over
to his team mates, Ben Barnicoat and Tom Blomqvist.
All three drivers kept out of trouble and the team at 59Racing pulled off some impressive pit stops throughout the entirety of the race. A small pit lane
speed discretion cost the #60 vehicle a 30 second penalty, with several hours remaining. This penalty unfortunately cost the team the lead but once
served the boys powered their way back through the field to finish in a strong 3rd position outright for the day. A post race penalty to the 2nd place
AMG allowed the #60 car to jump back up a position, landing us in 2nd Outright and in Pro Class.
A special mention is required for our sister #59 Silver Class entry, piloted by Fraser Ross, Dom Storey and Martin Kovic, whom took out 1st in Class
and 8th outright for the day.
Overall, a fantastic day for Mclaren and 59 Racing, securing the best 1, 2 finish in Mclaren GT History.
